SOLD! Vintage cigar box transformed into a one of a kind homage to St Joseph the worker. Growing up I always had great affection for St Joseph. As a man, a father, a craftsman and man of great faith he provided a beautiful role model. This is my first shrine dedicated to him and incorporates vintage holy cards, medal and a repurposed broken rosary. I included a turned wooden bead as a tiny vase to honor his traditional occupation as a carpenter. The whole process of these Nicho shrines takes hours and uses many techniques to make each one individual and unique. The wooden cigar box made a perfect background for him and is a masculine and rustic touch. I have brought out more of its character with a bit of dark wax to enhance each item inside. The exterior has textured paper and several coats of paint and stain to give an antique look.
Stands 8 1/2” tall and 7 1/2” closed. Depth is 2 3/4”.
