Mixed media art piece with a snide “tongue in cheek” feel. The lady is surrounded with the advertising messages for self improvement or “you’re not good enough “ that are so prevalent in our society. These particular ads are from a 1920s magazine and include one recommending Lysol as a “personal antiseptic “! Her trappings of beauty and the implied need of improvement starkly contrasts the gentleman with his jaunty air and faintly sinister feel. His tie clip even has a trophy on it, because we all know he’s a winner, right? Other items include a vintage marble clock (non functional), crusty vintage resin hand, and a snake representing the true nature of this character.
The antique case this is housed in stands about 12” tall and 9” wide. Case is 5.5” deep when closed.
